Project meeting in Bordaux

Go For Literacy Estonian team in Bordeaux

Four teachers and four students from our school participated in Go for Literacy project meeting in Bordeaux, France. Our team: teachers Kersti, Ingrid, Jana and Gerli; the students from class 8B (Karina, Karit, Robyn and Raimond).
The mobility took place from 28 May to 3 June 2018 and the days were full of different activities and workshops there. While the teachers were having  meetings on speaking and listening strategies, the students were taking part in team-building games, playing sports. Perhaps the most important task for students was finishing the eTwinning project Reading Circles. During the third term, the students read books and had discussions with team members. In France the teams had to make a final product of the book, either a poster or a model and introduce it. All the products were illustrative and well done.
We had time to go sightseeing as well. To get to know Bordeaux better, a photo rally was organised where the mixed teams tried to find certain places in town according to the guide. Visiting Saint-Michel-De Montaigne gave an overview of life of the French philosopher. Probably the best experience was a boat trip where everybody could see the beauty of Aquitaine and the bravest students coud even steer a boat. An unforgettable place was the Great Dune of Pyla- the sand dune 2.7 km long and rising to a height of 107 m above the sea level. Climbing there was an experience!
All in all, everybody learned a lot, shared experience and enjoyed the French hospitality.
Thank you, French friends!
